NES Excitebike : on ines
NES Excitebike .
this is a screanshot of NES Excitebike.
I'm playing some old nes roms on linux with ines.
----
I've also tried to use nescafee but nes cafee is java and it's
to slow for my computers.
" JAVA = SLOW ".
----
I nes is not java and it's fast on my 800mhz computer.
>
to start games with ines open a shell and type.
ines -hperiod 1500 -scale 2 -nosound roms/*EB.nes
----
On my slower 200mhz pII the i set the cycles lower.
>
ines -hperiod 124 -scale 2 -nosound roms/*EB.nes
----
WORKING GAMES :
mario.nes **
excitebike.nes *****
-
castlevania.nes but with some bugs.
-
sidepocket.nes ***
tetris2.nes
-
zelda.nes but I think their are some bugs.
-
kirby's adventure.nes ***
-
and other games that i have not tested yet.
----
I'm not that into nes right now, but
there are some clasic games that are fun.
But I don't like playing old plat form games with a keyboard.
And I don't have a game pad for my Linux/PC.
---
iNES plays the games smoothly.
But some games just don't play.

zophar has a good list of emulators.
The emu you use will depend on
your xserver type and graphix cards ability
and drivers.
I have a nvidia pci card 128mb.
I use nvidia's driver.
and xfree86 on a 800mhx pc
and ines works good.
>
I also have a 200mhz pII
with a cheap on old card and ines works with the default xserver that comes with damnsmall linux.
>
I wont use the emu that need "root permission".
dont use programs that need "root permision"
unless they come from a trusted site
like debian.
I don't install the emu's i run them from
my loacal home files.
-
long live nes.
